Elephant Hide of Knysna is a boutique lodge of nine suites, perched above the famous Knysna Lagoon on South Africa’s Garden Route.

We blend warm African character with contemporary comfort, from the stone fireplace lounge to the pool deck, and every suite has its own character and outlook. With attentive, personal service, we are an ideal base for exploring the Garden Route, or for simply unwinding in one of the most beautiful settings in the country.

Swim with the lagoon spread out below, then settle on the deck with a sundowner from our bar. When the evening cools, the guest lounge, with its African art and stone fireplace, is the warmest seat in the house.

The restaurant

A table above the lagoon.

Breakfast is included in every stay, served in the main lodge with the lagoon below. In the evening our small, thoughtfully curated dinner menu changes with the seasons, and the bar opens onto the pool deck for sundowners.
